✨ Subtle accent wall - this project was a fun one and one of my first DIY’s learning to use power tools. I used 1x4s, 1x6s and ornamental molding inside each of the board and batten boxes. This was a great way to bring subtle interest to our bathroom without being overly busy!

✨ kitchen island - our builder grade kitchen island was in very rough condition so I gave it a makeover by wrapping it in 1x4s and adding my favorite molding to the base to give it more of a custom look. This project was done about 3 1/2 years ago and has held great!

✨ Replacing mirrors - taking off the old square builder grade mirror sounded scarier than it actually was. Using a few shims to pop the mirror off of the wall and replace it with two arched mirrors from Lowe’s added a thoughtful touch to the space!

IKEA Cabinet Hack ✨

I had a vision for a huge, textured console table that looked designer—but everything I found was way out of budget. So, I made my own! I started with a simple IKEA cabinet, added rounded corners, and wrapped it in pole wrap for that high-end look. And I’m OBSESSED with how it’s coming together!

After four years in our home, we’ve gradually transformed it from standard builder-grade to a space that truly feels like ours. Here are a few of my favorite projects:

🔨 Accent Wall: Installing beadboard in the hallway was a total game-changer! The deep paint color adds a striking contrast and gives the space a cozy, custom feel—all with a simple DIY.

🔧 Kitchen Island Makeover: Our builder-grade cabinets were outdated and water-damaged, so we wrapped the island in pine 1x4s for a more modern, substantial look. A fresh coat of paint completely brightened up the kitchen!

🪞 Bathroom Refresh: Swapping the basic builder mirror for a custom one made a huge impact. Paired with a DIY concrete countertop and backsplash, the space now feels polished and personal.

Each of these upgrades took time, but they’ve helped turn our house into a home that reflects our style.
