Four Steps to a DIY Framed TV! 🎬✨

This is one of those projects I kept putting off, thinking it wouldn’t make much of a difference… but WOW, was I wrong! The frame completely softens the look of the TV and gives it a custom, built-in feel—all with just a few simple steps.

Here’s what I did:
1️⃣ Cut ornamental molding with a miter saw (or use miter shears for a tool-free option!).
2️⃣ Hot glued the corners together.
3️⃣ Used antique gold Rub ‘n Buff for that vintage charm.
4️⃣ Attached it with hot glue to each corner of the TV—easy to remove if needed!

I’ll admit, tiling for the first time felt intimidating, but it was way easier than I expected! If you’ve been thinking about a backsplash upgrade, here’s what you need to know:

🛠 @musselboundtilemat adhesive – This peel-and-stick option makes installation a breeze! (Not renter-friendly, though—it sticks really well.)

🛠 Tile cutter vs. wet saw – A manual cutter works for small cuts, but for larger tiles or tricky angles, a wet saw is the way to go.

🛠 Premixed grout from @loweshomeimprovement – Just add water, mix, and apply! Pro tip: Always rinse your sponge in a bucket to keep grout out of your drains.

This was such a fun weekend project, and I’m obsessed with the results!

Faux beams are up, and I couldn’t be happier! 🙌✨

This hallway was practically begging for beams, and they’ve completely transformed the space. I went with cedar for that rough, natural vibe, but you can use any wood you like!

After a light sanding and some wood conditioner, I experimented with stains—starting with antique white and walnut. The cedar leaned a little red, so I topped it off with Early American for the perfect finish.

For the install, I used scrap wood secured to the studs and mounted the beams onto that. Simple, sturdy, and effective!

I’m loving how this DIY turned out—such a game-changer for our hallway. Would you add beams to your space?

It’s amazing what a little paint can do! This space was feeling a bit flat, and just this simple upgrade completely transformed it. The area feels brighter, fresher, and so much more welcoming. 🎨

I’ve never painted trim the same color as the door (aside from white, of course), but I love how it turned out. The door feels taller, and the whole entryway has more of a statement without being over the top.

The color is Evergreen Fog by @sherwinwilliams, and I couldn’t be happier with the impact it had.

Tiling for the first time felt a bit intimidating, but it was so much easier than I expected. If I can do it, so can you! Here’s some more details:

1️⃣ @musselboundtilemat adhesive: This stuff is super sticky and works on lightly textured walls as well as smooth. (Heads up: it’s not renter-friendly and can damage drywall if removed.)

2️⃣ Tile cutter: Perfect for small cuts, but for larger tiles or precise cuts, I’d recommend a wet saw.

3️⃣ Grouting: Premixed grout from @loweshomeimprovement is a game changer—just add water, mix, and apply. Important: Use a bucket to rinse your sponge and keep grout out of your pipes. (I was just wetting my sponge in this cut).

This project was such a fun upgrade, and I’m in love with how it turned out!

2. Installation: Used a brad nailer to attach the beadboard to the wall, ensuring nails hit the studs for secure placement. I avoided any glues/adhesives for easier future removal.
3. Adding the Railing: Installed a 1x3 MDF board as the top railing, then nailed a 1x2 board on top to create a small ledge.
4. Decorative Trim: Added a braided wood piece beneath the railing for extra detail.
5. Finishing Touches: Caulked seams and filled nail holes for a seamless appearance. Since the materials were pre-primed, I applied a final coat of Urban Bronze paint for a durable finish!

Why I Chose This Method:

🔨 Accent Wall: Adding bead board to the hallway was a game-changer! The dark paint created a beautiful contrast and added that cozy, custom feel—all with a simple install.

🔧 Kitchen Island Wrap: Our builder-grade cabinets were rough, outdated, and water-damaged. Wrapping the island in pine 1x4s gave it a more substantial, modern look, and fresh paint brightened up the entire kitchen!

🪞 Bathroom Refresh: Swapping out the builder-grade mirror for something more custom made a huge difference. Paired with a DIY concrete countertop and backsplash, the space feels polished and personal.

FREE TABLE turned to $75 profit! 👏

I spotted this free table on my daily jog, and knew it had to come home with me! I loved the shape, the details, and the potential it had with just a bit of TLC.

I sanded it down, gave it a fresh coat of walnut stain, and sealed it with a strong polyurethane. Look at her glow! ✨

I listed this on @offerup and it sold for $75—definitely a win in my book. I was tempted to keep it, but it didn’t quite fit in our living room. So, I might just put that $75 toward materials for my own DIY coffee table!

This hallway was just begging for some beams, and I’m loving how they brought everything together. I went with cedar because I couldn’t resist the rough, natural vibe, but you can totally use whatever wood like.

I gave the beams a light sanding and treated them with wood conditioner. I played around with stains—starting with antique white and walnut—but the cedar was pulling a bit red, so I added a final layer of Early American by for a perfect finish.

For the install, I used scrap wood attached to the studs and mounted the beams onto that—super simple and sturdy!

This DIY was such a game changer for our hallway, and I LOVE the transformation here.
